Tim Lynch

Tim Lynch started his writing career in Afghanistan where he founded the popular milblog Free Range International. Tim, a former infantry officer, retired from the Marine Corps in 2000, arrived in Afghanistan as the program manager for the American Embassy guard force. By 2008 he had his own guesthouse, The Taj, with its world famous Tiki Bar in Jalalabad, the capitol of Nangarhar Province. He started blogging in Jalalabad and continued detailing his work and adventures outside the wire over the ensuing four years. Tim now lives in McAllen, Texas with his wife Rebecca and is working on a fiction series loosely based on some of the characters who lived and worked with him at the Taj in Jalalabad.
