Alan Stoskopf

Alan Stoskopf is a freelance journalist, who writes non-fiction essays and opinion pieces for magazines and journals. When not writing non-fiction, he also writes short stories and novellas under the pen name of a.l, Dawson. His counseling of refugees and immigrants has deeply influenced many of the themes and character portrayals in both his non-fiction and fiction writing. Currently, he is engaged in creating a new podcast, James Baldwin: Then and Now, scheduled for launch in Summer, 2026. He has been a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and was the former Education Project Director at the Joiner Institute for the Study of War and Social Consequences at UMass, Boston.
